MY FABIO CANNAVARO DIDN'T WIN THE GOLDEN BALLLL!!!!!!!!!!!
WHYYYYY!!!!!!!!!
He lost narrowly, just 35 votes, to Zizou. Eeks, I can't help but say it's unfair! I think they gave it to Zidane just because they pitied the old man... Yeah, I know he's a legend, I know he was fantastic against Brazil, BUT... even putting the headbutt incident aside, Cannavaro was better throughout this tournament! For the matter, I think even Pirlo was better (more consistent) than Zizou... ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
And it isn't as if Zidane's the only old man. Cannavaro is getting old too. In fact, although he never said it, I really wonder if he'd be in the next World Cup. He's only a year younger than Zidane in case you didn't know!
And why the pity too? Ok, so maybe they wanted him to end his career on a high note, but.... ARGHHH, that guy has won practically EVERYTHING!
See this, from wikipedia:

UEFA Champions League Most Valuable Player: 2001-02
THIS OLD MAN WE PITY HAS WON ALMOST EVERY MAJOR COMPETITION/PERSONAL AWARD THERE IS!!!! Both the Serie A and Spanish league too. Only thing he doesn't have is the EPL title. ARGHHHHHHH. And trust me, I don't think people will remember him for his headbutt as much as for being a legend.
Cannavaro... yikes. I guess defenders just get less of the headlines than players like Ronaldinho or Zidane. Oh well. I think he'll still be happy... I just feel that it's unfair for him, that's all!
And in the same soccernet article, I saw this too -
Other Fifa awards from the World Cup finals:
Golden Shoe (top scorer): Miroslav Klose (Germany)
Most Entertaining Team: Portugal
Best Goalkeeper: Gianluigi Buffon (Italy)
Best Young Player: Lukas Podolski (Germany)
Now, WHY THE HECK IS PORTUGAL THE MOST ENTERTAINING TEAM? THEY'VE ENTERTAINED US WITH WHAT? THEIR ACTING? ARGHHHHHH. Ok, so maybe they made an England match more interesting than it usually is, and they had the match with the most cards too... entertaining indeed.

haha.. the most entertaining team for me should be Argentina. I like their attacking move...
As for Golden Ball, If dun count the Headbutt (or no hair) incident, i feel that zidane worthy of the Golden Ball winner, just beat Cannavaro to it.
I mean, all of France attacking build up play is via Zidane.. Starting from the 2nd round vs Spain ( he scored one, assist one) QF ( he assist the winning goal ), Semi (He scored the winner), every game he contributed.
As for Cannavaro, the like of Aust (sorry lo), Ukraine's attack nv really trouble the Italian defence. Cannavaro did very very well.. But Zz role make a bigger impact for France than Cannavaro for Italy. If only Cannavano could score just one goal.. Den...
Btw hor... what if Materazzi said sth really abusive that provoked Zidane into giving him that stone cold headbutt?? If so hor, den Italy win really very smelly sia.. See wad happen... Ex Everton player... Hmmmm....
aiyah, that's why i say harder for defenders to shine ma! but precisely la, it's from spain game onwards... before that game people were still talking about whether he should be replaced!
i think everyone can agree materazzi is an ass lah. what i've read all point to materazzi being a nasty and dirty player. everton player, and always getting sent off, got banned for punching people before... my father sort of excused zizou coz he say even he would react the same way if he angry! but i was like, precisely lah! zizou shouldnt be "stupid" like my father what!
can't excuse lah... but maybe male hormones different lor. what i think is, no matter what materazzi say... curse his family or racist remark or whatever, cannot headbutt one. or if want headbutt, wait until the end then headbutt lah. by then fifa also can't ban him anyway! (coz he retiring what) football sometimes bring out the violent side of men, but i'd have thought with zizou's experience, he'd be wiser...
and btw right, i don't understand something. why HEADBUTT?
is that something guys like to do? i thought if u all angry is like punch or push the fellow, not do some pokemon move like headbutt? funny lor.
and like what the papers say, u give golden ball to zizou, how u going to explain to young kids about the headbutt? i don't think zidane's ever going to explain it, and young kids will be wondering why violence is condoned in football.
why guy or rather footballer headbutt ar? i think if use hand, easy to block... By using the head, it will caught him by suprise.. -.-'''
anyway, the soccer world changed... so much abt tacties.... the coaches/players start to use 孙子兵法。 Target the opponant star player, try to get him send off... Provoke him.. try to get him to commit foul, den dive cum play act.. get him a yellow card den the Red... Eg ( rooney in the Qf, Zz in the final)
haiz.. it is not abt the best team win... but the most cunning team to win..
aiyah, materazzi may be an ass, but i still don't think can excuse zidane's part lor... just like how we all know ronaldo is an idiot, but rooney was an idiot too! so yah, i rather blame the players who got sent off for not being able to keep their cool... it doesn't mean those who provoke them are without fault, but yeah, they never got themselves sent off for being smart.
so now, not only you've to play football with your feet, also have to play with your head. (but i don't mean using it to headbutt!) but i also like a team which plays with heart... :) feet, head, heart!
hmm... u mean u want fight people also headbutt one ah? guys are funny then. i still can't imagine how you can head a ball without feeling pain, now guys like to use the head to fight people too!
but then... if i want to hit a guy, i think i'll kick... there.
that is how liverpool play with.. With a never say die heart to win all game.. Never seen liverpool player dive (maybe sissoko la, but he will leant) or play act. I would say Liverpool is the most honest team around. Hope Bellamy dun get any RED for violent conduct.
Maybe guy know how it feel if so wun target there.. So i assume it is only the girl (now den i know ladylala) who will target guy's ...
btw, i dun beat ppl, or get into fight de la.. i gentleman de horrr..
whaaaaaat? Portugal most entertaining team? you serious? as in, FIFA really gave them that honour? Oh shit, entertaining in terms of red cards perhaps. and an alternative sports involved called, DIVING.
the soccernet put one ar... portugal most entertaining team... i suppose if their diving is good, quite entertaining ah.
hmm... actually liverpool players also dive quite abit. i know last time my harry did, and i saw luis, momo, stevie doing it on a couple of occasions... it's quite saddening la, esp in stevie's case, where people often say he hypocrite. he one day say those foreigners dive, then next day go dive himself quite embarrassing lor. but because he our fav player, we usually don't make too much noise about it...
AT LEAST.. at least, we don't have a reputation like chelsea, and stevie n co don't have a reputation like sissy ronaldo. but it doesn't mean we're totally clean and angelic... still hope to see it stamped out of football, but it's hard.
i think there is a between real dive and those fall on the ground abit too easily..
There maybe no contact from the tackle, but there is to a certian degree this action affected the attacker from gg forward.
For eg, the CL final (liverpool third goal from a penalty), Gattuso put out his hand, he nv really touch gerrard. Gerrard went down in the box, Ref say PENATLY. Ac Milan Players protested! I feel it is a right decision. But
Sometime Gerrard really goes down abit to easily la.. Haha..
